This will make Starlink far less useful for the many that spend sevetslonyhs in the Bahamas in the winter. This this the whole reason many of us got Starlink in the first place.

We cruise from the US to the Bahamas and stay in the Bahamas from 2 to 5 months at a time. Crossing over from the US to the Bahamas is not safe without internet connection. We have twice needed help when crossing when the boat was incapacitated- one time to get a tow to shore, one time to use AI to diagnose and fix the problem. This is a serious safety concern. What if had been a health issue? The cost of the higher plan is too much on an ongoing basis and the 30 day rule is unmanageable.

Starlink has saved lives out on the ocean and it’s certainly put my nerves a little at ease being able to connect with other sailors when things get tough, Let’s keep it that way by keeping it affordable for all cruisers or removing the 90 day rule. Cheers 🤍

We live on our boat in the Caribbean and are constantly on the move from small country to the next one in order to stay within visa requirements.
Starlink has allowed us to stay in touch with family and to check weather and world events. If the price goes up much more than what we have been paying we will have to cancel service as we rarely stay in any one country more than a month.

We live on our sailboat and are not bound by borders, we can freely travel around the world. Even though Starlink is a great tool for us, it is sad that these rules hit us that hard.

We plan to begin an Atlantic circuit in December this year, with the voyage continuing until September 2027. Starlink is an important part of our safety and security strategy. The new rules make it impossible for us to rely on Starlink for this purpose. This is a very unexpected and disappointing development.
