I believe that students should be honored for their hard work. Why take this away from someone deserving?

There is nothing wrong with paying honor to a student(s) who work hard during their 12 years to be recognized for such. And things just need to be left alone.

It is a travesty to not recognize students who have worked their tales off for years to achieve something very special. They have EARNED recognition and it is a slap in the face if not.

This is an achievement that should not go unnoticed! It takes hard work and dedication to achieve the best of the class. I love the recognition they do on WCIA, I look forward to the commercials every year!

This is an honor that deserves recognition just as our athletes are recognized for their athletic accomplishments. These students have put in too much time and effort to be the best for it to go unrecognized. Please reconsider your position on this matter.

I was the Class of 2020 Salutatorian and it was one of the proudest moments of my high school career. Working towards earning one of the highest titles in my class gave me a goal to work for over those four years. I don’t believe it should have ever been taken away, but reinstating it gives students something to work for academically. It’s an honor they will always remember.

I think it is shame to take an honor of valedictorian away when it has been around for years. I also know for a fact that not every child feels pressure from their parents that these students love to learn and excel. I feel that is why the valedictorian should be reinstated to these students who have diligently to excel in academics. Is it not like a sporting event that gets award for their hard work. To me it is the same concept.
They deserve this honor.
