Women protecting themselves from violent men should not be taught that their will to live is grounds for life sentences. Free Ms. Brown!!

If this woman was white, she would have never received this sentence, much less be in prison. She was defending herself and unborn child from a man who was going to kill her. She deserves her freedom.

Susan Brown should never have been arrested in the first place. She was defending herself and her unborn child.

I’m tired of women being locked up for defending themselves from violent men & judged by men equally as toxic & likely violent. This woman was in her last trimester & this man was trying to kill her & her baby. Today she would have faced murder charges for the loss of a her baby in the male dominated justice system bent on punishing women.

Hearing her story sits near to my heart, as I too, was a victim of domestic violence by the man that I married and gave birth to. I lost two children due to abuse, and there were times that I felt like the only way I was for me to return the violence, but I contemplated because I knew that there could be repercussions that would have not been in my favor. This woman protected herself against the man that was supposed to protect her. She deserves a fair chance in life. Free her now.
