We have to protect our green spaces and wetlands - water catchment is becoming a huge issue especially in these areas being overdeveloped. It would be great to keep more designated safe and maintained green outdoor areas/parks for public enjoyment as apposed to developments putting more strain on a struggling infrastructure

Protecting this area is important because the vlei and natural waterway play a vital role in drainage, helping to reduce flooding and preserve the natural environment. Cutting down trees and destroying this habitat could have lasting consequences for our neighbourhood, wildlife and water systems. We need to protect our green spaces and ensure development does not come at the expense of our environment and community.
