The bathroom passes are just gross. This school is being way too unnecessary. Like why do you care if someone wants to get some food during their free period. Also the policies about attendance and the way they talk about them just show how they care about the schools numbers more than the actual kids.

For years I have been excited to have the full “senior experience,” and the freedom that comes along with it. As this being my last year in High School I think we should have the chance to prove ourselves as responsible enough to follow the rules. I understand there are some who won’t, but they should have separate punishments, instead of grouping everyone together as the problem.

If the administration is having difficulties with some students the answer is not to control and distrust, ALL students and parents for that matter.

It is very important for our students to have autonomy over some basic rights and human needs while in school (bathroom-food-freedom to move. These policies in actual practice are more harmful than helpful. Schools should take responsibility for helping the frequent truancy offender families-not be punish or create unwarranted burden on families with normal attendance needs.

I think these rules are outrageous and a few kids ruined it for the whole school.
You should address it with a few kids that ruined it not the whole school

High school is supposed to be a transitional phase to prep for secondary education and/or beyond. By restricting freedoms in and during school, we are creating less capable students ready to face adversity by themselves and teaching them to make decisions relying on a rigid system rather than their own merit.

Policing not only kids but also parents is a violation on so many levels. No one asked for a “gotcha” culture and frankly it’s impacting everyone all around. These are hs students. Making a student go to a dr every time they get a cold is unreasonable. Bathroom passes? Gross. We can do so much better. Perhaps parents need to overhaul leadership at this point. Whoever came up with these policies is not setting the right tone at the top. Trust your parents. These are our kids, not yours.

I am signing this petition because our high school's new attendance policy takes decision-making authority away from parents and places unnecessary burdens on families. Requiring documentation for nearly every absence removes the flexibility parents need to handle illness, appointments, and family matters without added stress. Tying senior parking privileges to a 90% attendance rate unfairly punishes students for absences that may be entirely legitimate.

The fact that I can’t leave school for major events like a family members wedding without it being excused is ridiculous. I can’t believe i need to show a doctors note to leave, it feels like we aren’t trusted, this also goes with the closed halls, if we can’t be independent in highschool how will we acquire these critical skills for collage? and the bathroom passes…. gross they are always wet and literally spread so many germs making people more sick, meaning they have to miss school, get rid!
