We are asking teachers and school leaders to stop giving homework to students, because it is putting us under too much stress. After a full day at school, many of us need time to rest, help at home, and have a life outside of class. Instead, homework can fill our evenings with pressure and leave us tired, frustrated, and unable to focus the next day.

Students already spend many hours in classrooms, trying to keep up with lessons, tests, and expectations. When homework is added on top, it often takes away the little time we have for sleep, family, exercise, reading for fun, and simply being kids. For some students, home is not a quiet place to study, and that makes homework even harder and more stressful.

We believe learning should happen during the school day, where teachers are there to help and every student has a fair chance to understand the work. If extra practice is needed, it should be limited, meaningful, and not overwhelm students or harm their well-being.

We ask for no homework for students, so that school time can stay focused on learning and home time can stay for rest, balance, and healthy growth.
