Data centers, especially gas-powered data centers, emit significant pollutants, such as nitrogen oxides, methane, volatile organic compounds, and fine particulate matter. According to a September 2025 study, these pollutants increase rates of respiratory diseases and cardiovascular conditions, and they elevate cancer risks among nearby communities. A 2025 model indicates that U.S. data centers in 2030 could cause approximately 600,000 asthma symptom cases and 1,300 premature death-

Water consumption, electrical consumption by these companies will cost everyone, us! Our world is experiencing excessive glacial melt. Water is precious! The amount of water/power used and the resulting contamination is simply insane! Noise produced by these plants is harmful to the human body and to wildlife. This is strictly a water and power grab by billionaires. There are no regulations in place to safeguard our well being. And few jobs will actually be sustained long term.

Because I know of the damages it causes the environment in a 5 mile radios of the centers, let alone us citizens. Who is benefiting from them besides the rich? Get involved people! If you were against the smelter, know a data center is far far worse.

Data centers emit soundwaves 24/7 - wildlife is sensitive to and will be driven away. They use up enormous amounts of water and electricity. Even if they clean and release leftover water who's to say it isn't contaminated with pfas, and they still use probably more than is put back. Don't let them ruin our beautiful county!!

I’m signing to protect our water, power and rural environment. We live here for what it’s always been. Trying to make it a city is exactly what most of us left to come here and raise our families.

I'm not in favor of huge data centers gobbling up our energy and resources, raising prices for the average customer.

I've submitting a statement and public comment to the County Commissioners on data centers. I've even asked them how we can get it put on the agenda for a formal discussion. That decisions rest with the Chair of the Board. It is past time for having a formal discussion on the impact of data centers in our rural county. There has been little transparency with our County Commissioners, and I don't expect that to change. We have to be the change we want to see.

The US currently has the most data centers in the world, accounting for 45% of all facilities worldwide. We have little to no legislative guardrails on AI and big tech in general. Meanwhile, there is an alarming number of reports of AI agents causing havoc (hacking Hugging Face, requests for “recipes” for biological weapons, all sorts of existential issues…). We need to pause, plan carefully, and ensure we are protecting people and their environments.

The land and water isnt something you can drain it from materials, and our brains arent something you can control with your "computer intelligence". This isnt America, America is free. America stands against traitors stomping on our crops. Tearing down building to steal our water and replace our brains. This is America.

Data Centers do not provide anything to the community. It puts poison in our water, uses large amounts of electricity (that the regular Joe has to pay for in utility hikes), and takes up large amounts of land that could be used for something more beneficial.

They use too much of our natural resources, especially water and electricity. The noise they produce disrupts native wildlife, habits are eliminated risking extinction. Pollution of our county will destroy our rural way of life.
