Meridia Court service charge
Between 2020 and 2025 service charges for Meridia Court more than doubled. Please sign the petition if you agree with the following statements:
1) Meridia Court leaseholders (full lease and shared ownership) are paying service charges which are unreasonably high.
2) Meridia Court should pay less than 13.5% of estate charges.

Despite paying substantial service charges, we have repeatedly experienced problems with the building, including prolonged repair issues, problems with communal areas, the lift, entrance/security arrangements and general maintenance. In my own property, I have also had to deal with a serious and prolonged water leak and the consequences of inadequate and delayed repairs.
I have lived in apartment 20 since March 2009, and I can attest that the higher the service fees rise, the lower the quality of service becomes. The most egregious incident occurred quite recently: in late 2025, a leak originating from the roof began traveling down the common riser pipe, affecting apartment 29,25,20,14,8,2. The service company L&Q remained completely unresponsive to all appeals until I contacted the Member of Parliament for Newham Council.
I have signed this petition because we should stand together against unfair unclear unfordable unreasonable service charges at Meridia Court.
I live at Meridia Court and agree that the Service Charges are extortionate and should be significantly reduced.
I am signing this petition because the service charges for Meridia Court is far to high compared to similar flats in the area. Year on year I have seen it increase and I do not believe residents are getting value for their money. On top of that over the last few years we have incurred additional service charge bills on top of what we are already paying and when they have been queried with L&Q the reason is not justified. I fully support this petition.
I’ve lived in Meridia Court for 12 years now, and the extortionate service charges have been the absolute worst issue to deal with. I’m sure I’m not the only one getting heart palpitations every year when I receive the “final bill” worrying how many THOUSANDS of pounds I have “underpayed”. At the same time, many neighbours are left hanging with serious mouldy leaks with absolutely no support or solution in site. And that’s just the beginning. So, yes, I absolutely support this petition!

Having lived here since 2008, I have experienced ongoing problems with poor maintenance, delayed repairs and inadequate services, while service charges continue to increase. Residents deserve transparency, fair and reasonable charges, and services that reflect what we are paying for.
