I am truly grateful to our beloved Fr. Al and to the SOM School for the life-changing opportunity they gave me. The education, discipline, faith, and values I received became the foundation of who I am today. I never imagined that this opportunity would lead me to a life of teaching, eventually becoming an educator at the University of Michigan in the US.I may not always say it aloud, but his kindness and the gift of education continue to live in me and in the people I am privileged to teach.

My name is Jenefer Mercado,I truly believe I am a miracle of Fr. Al and grateful. Before the Sisters of Mary, my life was filled with poverty, hunger, abuse, child labor, and abandonment. I could not imagine a way out or a better future.But God opened a door through Fr. Al and the Sisters of Mary. They gave me more than education—they gave me hope, dignity, and a future.Today, I am blessed to live in the United States, work as a nurse, hold two master’s degrees, and license Financial educator.

Father AL is a miracle sent by God in our lives. A man who was able to lift the lives of many children started when he was alive up to now. Through him we were able to finished our studies and received opportunities to improve our lives from poverty. I am one of Fr. AL's miracle. I belonged to the poorest of the poor family in the Philippines. My parents are farmers from the northern Philippines. Fr. AL's foundation helped me reach my goal in life. The Sisters of Mary gave all the best to shaped my spiritual life and my future the best.
