Whilst I support and do active travel wherever possible, there are situations where public transport is not viable or safe. My mother was gravely ill with what turned out to be sepsis and I couldn’t get her to A and E due to gridlocked traffic. That hour could have had serious consequences. The stress for immunocompromised cancer patients like me of parking at the Churchill is awful. The lack of parking is ill-conceived and a solution that does not work and makes the lives of ill people harder.

It hugely adds to the stress of visiting hospital whether for an appointment for yourself or visiting others to not know when or whether you’ll find a parking space.

I take me elderly father to hospital and end up dropping him off and parking somewhere else entirely and walking back which takes a very long time. He isn’t mobile so public transport is not viable

Not every who uses the JR lives in the city or are able to use public transport especially when it is an emergency! And for follow up appointments its horrendous, requiring leaving at least an hr to traul around praying for a parking spot. Even a blue badge doesnt exempt you from the nightmare of trying to find a spot. The hospital in Derby recently built a muiltstory and its made life so much better for everyone and ment less missed appointments.

Because when you can't get a parking space at 8am and you are going into A and E, or are disabled and literally have to drive around for 40 mins even though you have more spaces available and they are still all full, this isn't good enough. And the staff shouldn't have to pay for parking either!

I had to go to the Churchill recently to return some medical equipment. I went on the bus and it took 4 times as long as it would have to drive. I chose the bus because you can't park even for 10 minutes.

If you are ill you want to travel by car in comfort. Not go all round the houses in a bumpy bus, possibly with noisy people!

My elderly parents in regularly have hospital appointments and if they lived in Oxfordshire there is no way that they could use public transport. I caught a bus to the JR recently for an appointment. The most recent timetable online stated it would take 40 minutes, but the route had been extended, so it took one hour, five minutes and I was five minutes late for my appointment. Traffic is dreadful in Headington, but certain patients and staff could have priority to use the multi-storey.

An absolute nightmare if you have an appointment at a busy time which most are. You really have to allow yourself at least 30 mins to find a space or risk missing the appointment.

Because I can no longer drive to appointments or visit people as the parking situation is so inadequate. I have to rely on unreliable buses.

It's always very very hard to get parking, it's really a joke. Come on build a multi story, make it free parking at the hospital. When you are going to the hospital you are already stressed!!

Being a cancer patient, I’m regularly at the Churchill and find if you don’t get there before 9 am you will struggle to feel a parking space.
No good if you’re appointed is later in the day.

As a disabled person even just visiting the JR is exhausting because of the lack of accessible parking

As a frequent hospital user access by car is important.
