30 Min bus ride to Witney, then 90 min to the JR from Witney, same on return. My twice a year MRI is done quicker. I dont drive so relay on buses.

Public transport is not always appropriate. I recently gave birth at the JR, and had many trips for appointments prior. I would absolutely not be comfortable getting public transport whilst in labour, nor heavily pregnant. Parking was always very difficult and added stress to an already stressful situation.

Not all patients can use the bus service. I attend regularly colonoscopies and I’m always told NOT to use public transport I must have someone in a car to collect me. So better parking is needed for the Oxford hospitals. Staff should not be paying for parking in their own workplace.

I now have to cancel appointments at the JR for myself and elderly parents as the struggle for parking is overwhelming. I even gave up and went home again on numerous occasions

It should be a choice.
The current system doesn’t work for patients or the hospital. Works well for the cafes though- as people arrive about an hour early to ensure a space. This makes it worse.

Instead of paving over more green space, build upwards. A four-storey modular car park could create around 1,000 spaces on a footprint little bigger than an existing surface car park, and likely cost less than many of the road and bus schemes being proposed to solve the same problem

It takes so long to find a space, causing a worry that I will be late for my appointment.

As a pensioner appointments are ever increasing. The parking is at its worse, have to allow an hour to park and hour to get out. It has reach a crisis point if you have an emergency. I couldn't be with my husband when he died all because I couldn't find a parking space.

The hospitals serve a wide area and must recognise the needs of staff and patients
Staff working there cannot be expected to use public transport or cycle when they work unsociable hours

Patients struggle to make it to appointments and get fines, wasting hugh amount of their time , costing them money and it makes coming to appointments really challenging

Getting to an appointment at the JR or Churchill is a major anxiety and makes a hospital appointment even more stressful than it need be. More easily accessible parking would make a huge difference to the hospital appointment experience for thousands of people throughout the county. This is not just about keeping local traffic down for the benefit of Oxford residents.

I have been using this car park every day this week. Average cost was £15 each vist. Takes ages to find a parking space.

People saying to just get the bus have clearly never experienced dealing with it at stressful times. We've had a child in the hospital for a week, "popping" home on the bus was a 4 hour round trip, the car takes an hour. Taking an elderly relative means taking 3 people because you need to leave someone in the car to park it while someone else can escort the elderly relative. Buses just aren't the answer. Parking is more congested because people are arriving SO early to battle the parking

It is never nice to be going to hospital. The added stress which leaves the patient dropped when they should be accompanied because the spouse/ son has to circle endlessly to find a place does not help reduce the stress. It also wastes lots of carbon unecessarily as engines idle waiting to find a spot.

Patients should not have to suffer the extra stress in looking for a parking space.
