Patients need more parking. Most patients attending hospital are unable to Access public transport because of illness/ health issues.n That is the reason for attending hospital appts etc. Visitors can travel by public transport as their health should enable them to do so.

Parking situation can often make you late for appointments, even when leaving ample time. Also should be free of charge for staff .

Parking is impossible and it causes huge additional stress to ill patients and their concerned families at the very time they don't need any additional stress

Agree. A big multi storey car park will relieve the difficult task to park when we have to go to JR or Churchill Hospital. I signed the petition. 🙂👍🏻

It’s fine if you live in Oxford but when you have to travel in from outside the centre it becomes very difficult to know how long it’s going to take you to get to the hospital if you have to travel by bus (up to 2 hours from where I live) so it’s preferable to drive but apart from first thing in the morning it's impossible to park at the hospital!

Good parking is essential at the hospitals and bus routes are not always suitable for patients in difficulties or very poor health.

Most people in Oxford use buses if they possibly can but hospital visits are a different problem. If you are unwell or disabled, or are taking someone who is, it is often impossible to find a parking place. It’s the one place where a blud badge does not help! There are few designated places and a high concentration of users. I don’t see how you can eradicate the need for parking at a teaching hospital which serves a huge area.

As someone who is disabled and in constant chronic pain the parking situation at these hospitals adds additional stress and sometimes make appointments untenable. Oxford hospitals are let down by their parking strategies.

A multi-storey car park would solve the problem. My late husband was referred to Blackpool Victoria for specialist surgery by his cardiac consultant at the JR. At Blackpool, due to their multi-storey car park, there was never a problem parking.

My husband recently spent 8 weeks in the JR. I visited him every day and it was a nightmare parking. Sometimes it could take 1.5 hours to find a place... I was also fined for non-payment on two days, which I am contesting, as I paid with a credit card and now have my statement which clearly shows that I definitely paid on those days. Altogether a dreadful experience, which only added to the stress of this difficult time.

Important to me and many others I expect. Each time I have to go to the JR for an appointment, I have to spend around three quarters of an hour trying to find a parking space. If we had multi story parking provided, I feel certain that this would be an asset and accommodate far more parking for everyone, staff and visitors.

There was nowhere to park the last time I had an appointment at the JR. I arrived with plenty of time to spare but after spending ages waiting, I had to go off site to park and walk back. Ridiculous waste of time and money.

A lot of people need to park close to the hospitals because they need to help others access or depart - there are many unseen challenges visitors face that can be moderated by close proximity to the hospital. Multi storey is a no brainer and will provide vital additional revenue for the hospitals.

It is important that visits to hospitals are stress free. At the moment if you go by car it is a nightmare. not everyone is able to use buses and they are not always reliable.

As a patient and carer of a patient I need ease of access for parking. On top of every involved with a long term, no cure, illness circling round and round is awful.

A senior has problems walking from the bus stop to the Churchill, it is more difficult with a wheel chair,it is up hill from the bus stop. Also standing waiting for buses that often don’t come is impossible no seating.

Make coming to the site less stressful if parking is more straightforward.
