In my regional community, access to dermatologists is difficult and expensive. Therefore many people suffer unnecessarily with acne because their ability to access care is prohibited.

Well within GP scope to prescribe and monitor Roaccutane use for severe acne

Plainly ridiculous that GPs cannot prescribe and monitor isotretinion. We routinely prescribe and monitor medications with far more complications and issues - and best placed and more far more accessible to monitor for side effects.

GPs are well positioned to monitor and manage the side effects and complications from Roaccutane. It is ridiculous for the TGA to comment that prescription by GP is not as safe as, if not safer, than our dermatologist colleagues.
