We call on Hyrox to reform its qualification system for adaptive athletes so it is fair, equal, and worthy of the effort these competitors put in every day.

In competitive athletics, inclusivity and equal opportunity should be more than good intentions. Right now, adaptive athletes in Hyrox face a much narrower path to the world championships than able-bodied athletes. Only three adaptive athletes per category, worldwide, can qualify, while able-bodied competitors have a more accessible route. That leaves too many adaptive athletes with far less chance to reach the biggest stage, even though they train, persevere, and compete with the same dedication and pride.

This is not how fairness should work in sport. Adaptive athletes deserve the same respect, the same visibility, and the same opportunity to prove themselves at the highest level. When the qualification system limits their place in the sport, it sends the wrong message to athletes, fans, and the wider community. It weakens the promise that competition should reward talent and commitment, not exclude people through unequal rules.

We ask Hyrox to make two clear changes: give the first-placed athlete in adaptive categories automatic qualification for the world championships, just as able-bodied athletes receive, and expand the number of qualifying slots in each adaptive category. These steps would strengthen participation, raise the profile of adaptive sports, and help create a richer, more inclusive competitive environment.

Hyrox has an opportunity to set a better standard. Please sign this petition and demand real change for adaptive athletes in Hyrox.

I competed in Houston 2026 and saw firsthand how unfair the competition is for adaptive athletes. Before my race, I was told the wrong number of laps to run and ended up running an additional lap. Not only this but the invite process to the World championships is unfair and there needs to be a better qualification process so that us adaptive athletes don’t have to rush to get tickets if we get invited. Additionally, it’s ridiculous that we have to fight for top 3 in the world.

I competed at worlds in Chicago placing 3rd in my category. I won races this year but didn’t qualify under their unfair standards.

It’s time for actions, not words. Adaptive athletes deserve to be treated as equal athletes, not just showcased when it’s convenient to demonstrate inclusion. Work with the adaptive community, not about the adaptive community. We have the knowledge, the experience, and the passion to help build something better.

Adaptive athletes should not be treated less favourably for WC qualification just because Hyrox has failed to make the system equitable. Hyrox benefits hugely from its claim to be the inclusive sport, 'the sport for everybody'. Well that needs to extend to qualification for WC, otherwise it's just a slogan, a marketing gimmick. Come on Hyrox, sort this out!

Took 5 1st places on the podium in 2026 and with no age divisions makes it very challenging, expensive and tough on the body to qualify for WC. I believe changes need to happen asap

I think this only fair and reasonable to allow this to happen. We are all equal.

Im an adaptive athlete and believe only having top 3 is a slap in the face. Be like CrossFit and take top 10 at least
