Students at Fort Lewis College pay thousands of dollars each semester for meal plans, but a swipe at Zia Taqueria doesn't buy a full meal.
Swipes at Zia's are limited to the baby burrito, baby bowl, or small quesadilla. On Zia's own menu, those portions are priced at $7.05, while the full-size versions are $10.30. After subtracting the Dining Dollars included in each plan, students pay roughly $10 to $15 per swipe, depending on the plan. That's as much as or more than a full-size meal costs, for a portion that costs about a third less.
We aren't asking for extra food or anything free, just a portion that reflects the cost of the meal plan.
We are grateful to have access to this restaurant on campus; however, we ask that Fort Lewis College Dining Services allow students (and faculty) to use a meal swipe on a full-size entrée at Zia Taqueria.
