I come from a family of firefighters and paramedics, with a long history of seeing the importance of a strong and stabile fire service. It is beyond terrifying that the 10th largest city and the second fastest growing city in the country does not have the right people in place to currently see and foresee the needs of the people they serve. It is shameful and greedy.

The City’s proposal would cut fire truck staffing from 4 firefighters to 3 for up to 10 hours a day — a 25% reduction. Yet over 90% of Fort Worth residents say cutting Fire and EMS response is unacceptable. Residents have made Fire and EMS their top priority. City management has not.
Before any staffing cuts, City Council should answer basic questions: How many firefighters are currently on mental health or physical leave? How many workers’ compensation claims are pending or still denied? How ma

This January marks 27 years serving the citizens of Fort Worth. I signed this petition because I believe our firefighters deserve the support, staffing, and compensation necessary to protect one of the fastest growing cities in the country. Keeping experienced firefighters in Fort Worth and attracting the next generation is good for every citizen who depends on us when they call 911. I'm proud to serve this city, and I want to see our department remain a place where firefighters chose to serve t

Fire services are the most importantly department in this city.
They are always there when you need them and that’s typically our worst days.

I personally know firefighters that have given much to this career. I also know a few who have everything to the citizens of Fort Worth.

First responders make the difference between life and death. They are the most important service the city has and should be commended and recognized as such!

Nothing speaks louder to a misrepresentation of your cities residents than to lower the ability to care for them in emergencies as the need for this care and response rises.
