Fire and EMS are the first ones on scene. While never knowing exactly what they’re walking into. Each of them hold a special place. First line of defense is them! Taking away from them means more lives are going to be in jeopardy.

Firefighters and first responders are NOT optional - they are critical to everyone in our society and we need to make sure they have what they need to stay safe while taking care of the rest of us!

It is a shame having to sign this, Fireman risk their lives for our safety, they do not make enough as it is and are stretched for help. Those trying to stop the pay should be ashamed to even think this should happen.

First responders are the barrier between a functional safe city and utter chaos. Cutting funding / manning for first responders will result in the downfall of a beautiful city.

The fire department is essential to how a metroplex runs. Without enough staffing, pay and equipment how will we survive as citizens in this city.

The city of Fort Worth has always had one thee Best Fire Departments in the nation, that title comes with a cost not just with financial considerations but with the fact that the firefighters themselves take pride in serving their communities

Public safety is a critical public service provided by local government. There are no backup plans provided by the public or private sector. When a citizen does not know what to do, they pick up their phone, dial 911 and expect an answer. The fire department is most often that answer. The citizens of Fort Worth deserve smart, brave, and honorable people on fire trucks and ambulances.

I am the fiance of a firefighter. His life and safety are extremely important. The city NEEDS to step up and fund, staff, and equip the fire department correctly. This affects the safety of our community and our firefighters. It should be of the utmost important to ensure that they are paid properly, have the equipment they need, and that needs are met in a timely manner.

Why would you want to compromise not only the safety of the citizens of Fort Worth but also the crews tasked with protecting that safety?
