We, the undersigned residents living adjacent to and near GreenTee Golf Course, respectfully demand an immediate end to the early morning noise disturbances caused by commercial lawn mowing and heavy turf equipment operating as early as 5:45 AM.
GreenTee Golf Course should follow Coquitlam Noise Regulation Bylaws, which restrict commercial equipment, power tools, and lawn maintenance machinery before 7:00 AM on weekdays and 9:00 AM on weekends and holidays.
When this work begins before those hours, it disrupts sleep, damages the QUIET ENJOYMENT of our homes, and creates stress for local families, working adults, and children who deserve a peaceful start to the day.
We ask the GreenTee Golf Course Management and the City of Coquitlam to act now and take these steps:
1. Stop all power mowing and heavy turf maintenance equipment near residential property lines before 7:00 AM on weekdays and 9:00 AM on weekends and holidays.
2. adjust daily mowing routes so maintenance staff begin on interior holes away from residential fences, only reaching perimeter greens near homes after standard municipal noise hours begin.
3. Transition to whisper quiet equipment by prioritizing electric or hybrid machines for early morning turf work near residential boundaries; and require Coquitlam Bylaw Enforcement to actively monitor, investigate, and enforce noise compliance at GreenTee Golf Course.
This is a simple matter of respect. Our neighbourhood should not have to wake up to the sound of commercial equipment before the day has even begun. We are asking for basic compliance and real enforcement so residents can enjoy the quiet hours that the bylaws are meant to protect.
As a person living with Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis, sleep for me is of the UTMOST importance. Being woken up anywhere from 5 - 6AM is simply not ok for me. I moved to this area recently and was unaware of this "maintenance schedule" that everyone else is just accepting? This needs to stop.
