The North West University’sstated official position is "neutrality". Unfortunately, this is incorrect; the official position is complicity. We call for the university to commit itself to the suspension of all collaboration with Israeli universities and other institutions where there is a plausible risk of direct or indirect involvement in human rights violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
We cannot forget how critical international solidarity was in delivering us the freedoms we enjoy today in South Africa.
