Police wield a badge and a gun sanctioned and paid for by our government. If they are not held to the utmost standards then they are little more than hired thugs instead of the pillars of justice they are meant to be. To allow such flagrant disregard to their duty to the public is judicial suicide. To hide from the public is to say they do not serve the public and that they are not beholden to the public. A most dangerous precedent to set.
