To: The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA)

From: The Fans, Supporters, and Citizens of the Egyptian Football Community

Statement of Purpose
We, the undersigned supporters of the Egyptian National Football Team, call upon the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) to immediately lodge a formal, rigorous complaint with FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee.

During the closing moments of the match against Argentina on July 7, 2026, Egypt’s Head Coach, Hossam Hassan, clearly and repeatedly executed the official crossed-arms "X" gesture. This gesture is universally mandated by FIFA as the signal to trigger the three-step anti-racism protocol. Instead of halting the match to protect the team and address the incident, the match referee dismissed the signal, failed to initiate the protocol, and penalised Coach Hassan with a yellow card.

This failure is a direct violation of FIFA’s own safety guidelines and public commitments to combating discrimination on the pitch. As a member association, the EFA has the sole legal standing and duty to defend its players, staff, and national dignity on the international stage.

We urgently request that the EFA takes the following immediate steps:

Demand the Release of Match Audio: Request the full audio logs of the communications between the referee, the fourth official, and the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) during the touchline confrontation to establish exactly why the protocol was denied.

Appal a Yellow Card Rescission: Demand the immediate rescission of the yellow card issued to Head Coach Hossam Hassan, which was unjustly given while he was attempting to flag a safety and discriminatory breach.

Public Transparency: Issue an official statement to the Egyptian public outlining the EFA’s concrete timeline and actions being taken to escalate this matter with Zurich.

Why This Matters Now
Football cannot claim to be a game for everyone if its highest governing body ignores its own protocols in moments of crisis. By failing to halt play, the officials compromised the safety and psychological well-being of the Egyptian team.

The EFA must not let this pass in silence. We stand fully behind our national team, our coaching staff, and our right to a fair, safe, and respectful sporting environment.

Stand with our team. Demand accountability from FIFA.

What happened in the Egypt vs. Argentina match is a major scandal. No justice, no respect, hateful racism, and clear bias from the referee towards Argentina. He helped Argentina win.
