She has been attending church regularly and contributing to works for next generation like English reading group while she is busy taking care of her baby. I cannot imagine the pain and difficulties for a mother and 16-month baby to separate. I strongly support her petition to become PR so that she can accompany her boy to grow healthy and happily.

Even though we had just met, she was incredibly kind and immediately offered to connect me with people in her professional network to help with my job search. Her willingness to help someone she had only just spoken with left a strong impression on me. By all accounts, Yan Zhang is a warm-hearted, civic-minded, intelligent and kind person who is a valuable member of her community, her church, Canadian academia, and Canadian society in general. She should be allowed legal status to stay in Canada because she has built her life here for a decade, and so she can raise her Canadian-born son, Aaron, who is just a baby and deserves to have his mother's love and care as he grows up. It would be cruel to separate such a loving mother from her child.

Yan is a very kind and patient mom. Every time I attended to church’s Sunday service, I could meet her and her little son, Aaron. I can tell Aaron is very attached to his mom.
