We are asking DreamWorks Animation to give Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken another chance with a sequel and an animated television series.

The first movie may not have achieved the success that DreamWorks hoped for, but that does not mean Ruby's story has to end. A sequel could build upon the original film, expand its world, develop its characters, and address areas that fans believe could have been handled differently. A television series could provide even more opportunities to explore Ruby, Chelsea, Agatha, Connor, Sam, Grandmamah, and the underwater Kraken world through new adventures.

We encourage DreamWorks Animation to consider:

We are looking for a level of quality for the Ruby Gillman franchise that significantly exceeds that of The Boss Baby TV series, The Boss Baby: Family Business (2021), Megamind vs. The Doom Syndicate (2024), and Megamind Rules (2024). It is crucial that any Ruby Gillman TV series avoids the weak plotting found in Megamind Rules. Instead, we want Ruby Gillman 2 to feature a top-tier narrative comparable to the excellence of Shrek 2 (2004) and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022).

Additionally, Ruby Gillman 2 should rectify the original film's flaws, marketing missteps, and underwhelming box-office performance. Hopefully, following the release of DreamWorks Animation's upcoming slate, a sequel to Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken will achieve box-office success.
