Decision Makers: Air France

San Diego and Paris are bound by business, science, and culture — yet not a single flight connects them nonstop. Today, every traveler loses half a day and a layover in another city. We're asking the airlines and airports with the power to change that to open a direct route between Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and San Diego (SAN).

This isn't a wish. It's a market that already exists:

✅ 70+ French companies operate across San Diego (Safran, Thales, Sanofi, Dassault, TotalEnergies and more)
✅ A French community estimated at 15,000 people
✅ 6.4 million residents across San Diego and Orange County
✅ More than 30 million visitors a year
✅ A world-leading hub for biotech, life sciences, defense, aerospace, cleantech and BlueTech
✅ San Diego anchors with deep French ties — Qualcomm (R&D in Sophia Antipolis and Lannion), ResMed (Lyon), Illumina (Genopole), WD-40 (near Lyon)
✅ A new sister-city agreement between Marseille and San Diego

And the demand is already proven. The transatlantic routes San Diego has aren't merely surviving — they're growing. KLM launched nonstop Amsterdam service in 2025 and has already extended it to the full summer 2026 season; the Air France–KLM–Delta partnership called San Diego "a large, unserved market." On the Pacific side, Japan Airlines is upgrading San Diego–Tokyo from four flights a week to daily, year-round service in 2026. San Diego already flies nonstop to London, Munich, and Amsterdam — Paris is the missing piece.

And SAN offers what LAX cannot: quick access to Downtown, the Convention Center, La Jolla, Coronado, Orange County, the national parks, and Baja California — without starting the trip stuck in traffic.

With major conventions like BIO, AACR, Comic-Con, and TED, rising France–California investment, and the LA 2028 Olympic soccer matches hosted in San Diego, the timing is right.

We're building this case alongside Senator Olivier Cadic, San Diego International Airport, the City of San Diego, the San Diego Tourism Authority, and the World Trade Center San Diego.

When you sign, you're not just backing an idea — you're telling airlines you would fly this route. Every signature is a potential passenger on record, which is exactly what route planners need to see.
Tell us you'd take a nonstop Paris–San Diego flight, for business, for family, or for travel — and if you travel for a company, add its name.

Business is ready. Tourism is ready. San Diego is ready. Sign and share. 🇫🇷✈️🇺🇸

there will be saving time to drive from San Diego to LA to catch a flight. Also the risks of driving back from LA can be very tiring and dangerous after a long flight and jet lag.

It would be very useful to have an airline company provide direct non stop flights to Paris from San Diego instead of continuing to fly BA or Lufthansa and hop on a final connecting flight. San Diego needs more direct flights? We are writing this as individuals but we do fly for business as well.

I have family in San Diego and it is really complicated both for my daughter and for my family in France to visit - there is a growing French Community in San Diego and this non-stop route would make a huge difference!

Very important option to avoid extra time, cost and tiredness after such a long flight. A nonstop flight from SAN to CDG would be a good incentive to fly more frequently from San Diego to Paris.
