We, Harry Potter fans from around the world, would love to see J.K. Rowling revisit the Wizarding World through a new and official alternate-universe story.
Our request is simple: we would love to see a version of Harry Potter in which Draco Malfoy is reimagined as a girl who gradually falls in love with Harry Potter.
The idea of a female Draco Malfoy and a Harry/Female Draco relationship has existed within the Harry Potter fandom for years through fan fiction and fan-created stories, and it has recently gained renewed popularity online through fan art, fan fiction, social media, and the growing Female Draco/Harry trend.
There is a reason the concept captures people's imagination.
A female Draco could preserve everything that makes the original character so recognizable — the pride, ambition, family expectations, rivalry with Harry, Slytherin identity, and complicated relationship with the Malfoy family — while creating an entirely new emotional dynamic between the two characters.
Imagine Harry meeting her before their first year at Hogwarts.
She offers him friendship, just as Draco originally did, and Harry refuses. From there, they become rivals.
But as the years pass and they face increasingly difficult situations, their rivalry could slowly evolve. Competition could become curiosity, curiosity could become mutual respect, and those feelings could eventually develop into something neither of them expected.
Love.
This could also explore the conflict between her feelings for Harry and the expectations placed upon her by the Malfoy family, especially as the story grows darker and Voldemort's influence becomes stronger.
Most importantly, we are NOT asking for the original Harry Potter books or canon to be replaced or rewritten.
The original story should remain exactly as it is.
What we are asking for is an official alternate universe: a separate retelling of the Harry Potter story that begins with the same magical world and familiar characters but explores how different choices, relationships, and circumstances could completely change their lives.
It could be a novel, a series of novels, or another official Wizarding World project.
For longtime Harry Potter fans, it would offer the extraordinary opportunity to experience Hogwarts again while genuinely not knowing how the relationships and story will unfold.
For new readers, it could introduce another perspective on one of the most famous rivalries in fantasy literature.
We respectfully ask J.K. Rowling to consider exploring this alternate version of the Wizarding World and the relationship between Harry Potter and a female Draco Malfoy.
Let us return to Hogwarts one more time...
but this time, let the story take a different path.
