It is important for kids to have goals. It is more important for parents to be the example of how to properly achieve them. Proud of you, Holly and Curtis.

Without striving for excellence, rewarding achievement and setting examples, we are failing to teach our children how things work in life after school. Let the bright lights shine.

Stop taking everything from kids that make them want to do better. Whether it sports or scholastics, our children deserve to be recognized for outstanding performance.

Kids need to be rewarded for hard work and have a goal in front of them. They will study harder to learn and make good grades.

I was soluditorian at GRHS in 2025 and I worked very hard for all 4 years of high school. It was an honor to be recognized for all that I did and I want all others who have worked that hard to also be recognized.

I felt it was wrong when I heard it was going to go away and I think it’s still wrong today. Not all students care about their grades. Why not recognize and award those that do? A chord is one thing but the honor of being awarded a chance to speak at graduation and have an honor bestowed for hard work is priceless. I have no students now but I respect those that do.
