Kawanthissa deserved to live, not to become another name in the list of Sri Lanka’s fallen giants. 🐘💔 He was a precious part of our wildlife and natural heritage. His death is heartbreaking, especially after suffering a gunshot injury and undergoing treatment. I believe there should be a proper investigation, accountability for any wrongdoing, and stronger protection for our remaining tuskers.**Kawanthissa’s life mattered. His death matters. Tusker Kawantissa was a national treasure Sri Lanka failed to protect. He deserves justice. Everyone responsible, including the shooters and any officials or personnel found guilty of wrongdoing, must be held accountable. No one should be above the law.
