Kawanthissa was more than an elephant he was part of Sri Lanka's natural heritage. His death has deeply saddened countless people across the country.
We call for a transparent, independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death, including the actions and decisions of the relevant authorities and veterinary officials. If negligence or misconduct is found, those responsible must be held accountable.
Our wildlife deserves protection, compassion.

Kavantissa was something that I really felt in love and care as a huge fan of ceylon tuskers and with a huge respect as a sri lankan buddhist . We need justice for him and all the past deads . Please let him attend nibbana or born as a king again on our motherland

It is high time the department should take proactive actions to save the wild life treasure. Unnecessary, ineffective authorities should be removed and proper capable authorities should be reinstated to positions
