The whole country watched and hoped for the recovery of Sri Lanka’s tallest tusker. Yet, it feels like everyone waited until it was almost too late, when little could be done to save him.
A majestic life, a national treasure, and a symbol of our natural heritage deserved so much better. Why does it take a crisis for us to act? Why do we wait until it is almost too late?
This is heartbreaking and shameful .
I’m not an emotional person and don’t live in Sri Lanka but I shed a tear for this gentle giant . He was crossing the road with his herd the other day . How did the system allow him to disappear to thin air just like that ? They too have the right to live on that land
