Name: Beck Hayhow on Jul 9, 2008Comments: I am very concerned looking at the programme that Dr Zucker is giving a talk on the Definition and Spectrum of 'GID'. Surely someone with very particular and narrow views on gender variant people is not best suited to give a balanced introduction to the topic. I think it is very dangerous and short sighted of the RSM to endorse his views in this way. If the RSM intends to continue to include him in the conference I sincerely hope that there are people prepared to challenge him on his outdated views for the sake of many gender variant children and adults that these medics will come into contact with.Flag

But more importantly, he is not supported or endorsed by the people he supposedly aims to treat. It would be wrong to give him a platform.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 9, 2008Comments: If he is a believer of the old "cure" for GID, then he is not in my humble opinion suitably qualified to handle children with GID, as the damage done could be irrepairable. Remove this man from any contact with GID kidsFlag

Name: Rosalyn Forrester on Jul 9, 2008Comments: Zucker has harmed, and continues to harm, people who are transexual, people who are transgender and people who are intersex all while they are not old enough to have a say on their care or to even be subjected to him. Zucker uses out dated ideas that "boys" play with "boy toys" and "girls" play with "girl toys" what ever they are. He forces parents who attend to his services for help in understanding their child, to not permit them to enjoy their childhood in games that bring them pleasure while hurting no one at the same time. That he continues to be invited to press his ideals as if his are fact. They are not they are just his ideals. I have spent a number of hours with Zucker, I have read the documents he gives to parents and professionals who work with the children. Worst of all his "testing" of the children are done in secrete, the parents are not permitted to watch through the two way glass or to read through the documents of his "treatment" of the child. I fear what he is hiding from parents and what else he may be doing to the child, or forcing them to do. Just as John Money had two children (brothers one forcefully assigned female at the time) act out imaginary sex acts on each other, what is it the Zucker is hidingFlag

Name: Cathy Johnson on Jul 9, 2008Comments: Just as there is no cure for homosexuality, there is no cure for transsexualism. Behavior modification cannot possibly alter genetic factors or other innate biological conditions no matter how severely you beat someone. Yet people like Dr. Zucker insist on pursuing actions by degrees that repeat Nazi Germany's executions.Flag

Name: Gina Morvay on Jul 9, 2008Comments: Kenneth Zucker's 'reparative' therapy is nothing less than abuse of trans children wrapped up in an acceptable package. It's time to stop giving him status he doesn't deserve. I would like to encourage the RSM to cancel Zucker's participation in the conference. This is not about free speech, rather about legitimizing hack science.Flag

Time to recognize it as abusive and fraudulent when applied to people with transsexualism or transgender people including transkids.Flag
