However, you do not have the personnel anymore to play man to man for 40 minutes straight. You have lost a reserve guard due to a transfer, your starting point guard is out for the rest of the season, your senior reserve post player is injured, and your bench has not been developed enough to allow sufficient substitutions to warrant the exhaustion created by man to man defense. As your customer, the financial supporting fans of the University of Arizona, we demand that you begin employing the zone defense when it becomes very evident that it is necessary to secure victory: like when your team is up 16 and your only post player is out with foul trouble and the opposing team storms back with point after point in the paint.
