US govt must consider withholding Zimbabwe deportation orders

The petition

We, the UNDERSIGNED Zimbabweans and sympathisers currently in the United States of America hereby humbly implore the Person and Office of Senator Hutchison of the State of Texas and other interested parties to take it upon yourself and the power invested in you to intervene on our behalf on the plight facing Zimbabweans under deportation orders and or are threatened with deportation back to Zimbabwe for no other crime or reason other than being in America.

We do not seek the overturning of deportation orders duly issued under USA laws but we are only begging you on humanitarian basis to save innocent lives by considering their plight and or alternatively deporting them to a third country other than Zimbabwe.

Many Zimbabweans are incarcerated in US prisons or are threatened with imprisonment for no other reason other than having applied for asylum, denied and are awaiting deportation or they have overstayed in the US for fear of their lives back home in Zimbabwe because of their political affiliations.

Deporting these Zimbabweans like Julius Mupoperi, Gilmore Kunaka and many others detained at Rolling Plains Detention Center in West Texas and many other detention centers throughout the USA is signing their "death warrants" with the current hostile political and economic situation in Zimbabwe.

The political, economic and social decadence in Zimbabwe is true, real and well documented by such organizations as Amnesty International and other Human Rights Organizations worldwide. Reputable News organizations like CNN, BBC, and others have published numerous publications on this decadence.

We do not think that this great nation of USA with its democratic ideals and being a beacon of hope to millions of oppressed peoples wirldwide would contribute to the deaths of innocent lives by deporting people to Zimbabwe to their sure death. We would rather America deport them to any other country other than Zimbabwe or reconsider the decision to deport them.
