All UK Childcare Providers can be exempt from Vat or Standard Rate if they choose. If we remain exempt this means that we pay VAT, but don't charge or claim it back. Obviously Standard Rate means we charge it, pay it and claim it. With the Emergency Budget putting VAT up to 20% this will have a huge impact on small Nurseries, childminders, pre-schools etc. The cost would have to be passed on to parents who are already going to be affected by the Budget! If we were Zero Rated this would mean we could claim back any VAT that we pay on resources,training and consumable items for the children. Please support this petition.
