| 1 | Rick Lohnes | Now is the time, LSV are safe and ZERO emissions. Not to mention pennies a km to drive. |
| 2 | Tony Lohnes | I'm sick and tired of our government allowing these gas companies to rob us all blind. It's time that our government did something so that we have other alternatives. Low income people also need to be considered in any program that's offered. |

| 6 | Tom Best | It is time for us to introduce the LSV in the HRM before we start having the smog problems asociated with a large urban center. Halifax is growing at an accelerated pace that the enviorment won't be able to cope with. |

| 10 | Joseph Wellman | I want one of these they are made here in canada but we cant us them WHY |
| 11 | Anonymous | I see that the Canadian government is once again shortsighted and feeling inferior with Canadian made products, why can the Zenn be sold in the U.S and be widely accepted but not in Canadian provinces. I suppose, except for British Colombia, that the other provinces need a history lesson about the Avro Arrow.
The Zenn should be sold in all provinces as fast as possible. |

| 18 | Havva Seydali | This amazing car should be allowed in all provinces. It makes perfect sense to allow these vehicles on the road since they will help us clean up our air and save the environment. They have been proven to be safe as well as economical so it makes no sense that transport Canada is not allowing it on the roads. It's time to put the common good ahead of profit making. |
| 19 | Michael Graves | What if
This is further to Rick Lohnes’s letter to the editor of April 15 “New Technology Can Help Environment”. My what if is something I’ve been mulling around for a while now.
What if Lunenburg County and the South Shore totally immersed ourselves in the Green movement? I’m talking converting to 100% renewable power; in our case probably wind power, geothermal for large projects and possibly solar for residential hot water.
Taking this a step further, we could then “voluntarily” use electric cars like the ZENN (Zero Emissions No Noise) as our principal form of local transportation (with much government prodding and approvals of course). When you or I needed a larger vehicle, we could rent a truck or a minivan for the time needed. (This is currently being done in cities around the world.) It has been estimated that you could reduce the amount of CO2 going into environment by up to 6 tons per car and save yourself approx. $2,200 per year. The cost of fuel and maintenance for an electric car would be approx. $175 a year based on 6000 km of driving. This would certainly provide a financial incentive to switch.
We could then have a community that is powered by and travelling on renewable resources. This could be an attractive incentive for green-minded companies to set-up business in our area. Our natural beauty and relaxed lifestyle would of course be another. One thing that all high tech companies have in common is that they need highly qualified, highly paid people to run them. Instead of exporting our children as they pursue challenging and rewarding careers around the world we could keep many of them working right here at home.
Many communities and regions have a competitive advantage that draws businesses and people to their area. Proximity to efficient transportation corridors, large populations, a large industrial base, energy resources…things Lunenburg County and the South Shore do not readily have. But to take the lead and convert a relatively young, small industrial economy to an economy fuelled by renewable green energy could be the catalyst that brings long-term stability and growth to South Shore residents and their communities. We wouldn’t be giving up on the traditional industries of farming, fishing and forestry - only enhancing them.
Can we do it? Why not. Is it possible? Absolutely. Tell your MP, your MLA, Mayor, Warden or Councillor that you want to make a change for the greener and you want Lunenburg County and the South Shore to lead the way.
