Comments: This is a strong effort to do two really important things: build environmentally sound architecture and keep housing affordable. I strongly support this type of thoughtful development over the more typical plopped-into-the-neighborhood condo development that you see all over gentrified neighborhoods in chicago. Here is an effort to do something that has a conscience behind it and there's resistance? unbelievable.

Comments: As a long-time resident of west Logan Square (since 1991), I fully support the construction of the Zapata Apartments. This development, including the tenant guidelines, is well-considered and will be a great enhancement to our neighborhood. Our neighbors and elected officials should support the construction of these apartments and support the innovative process and design used during development. There can be no better use of TIF funds than to support the development of high-quality affordable housing in Logan Square.

Comments: I'm heartened to see thoughtful development in Logan Square. Too often our low income neighbors don't benefit from good planning and architectural design, so I'm glad to support this effort.

Comments: As a Logan Square resident, I can attest to the need for Zapata Apartments in my community! And for what it's worth, I don't believe in affordable housing because I work for Bickerdike. I work for Bickerdike because I believe in affordable housing.

Comments: Having affordable housing in the 35th Ward is what will keep this neighborhood great and vibrant for all people. The people of this neighborhood are what attracted me to live here and the culture here makes this neighborhood a city landmark. Thank you for all that currently do to keep Logan Square great.
