Save the Youth With Disabilities Leadership Summit
Dear Viewers,
We, the past, present, and future youth participants and mentors would like to keep the annual Youth With Disabilities Leadership Summit going for future generations of disabled youth in Illinois
The summit is a very educational opportunity, where an exchange of ideas about disability rights can be formulated betwen youth, mentors, peer mentors, and support workers. This communication helps the learning process in an informal setting.
The workshops can range from disability rights awareness to the ADA, and there are other topics that also get discussed. Through interesting workshops, we learn how to advocate for ourselves, how a bill becomes a law, how to be on our own, what services are available to people with special needs, how to run our education in high school and college, as well as how to get help at work.
If the Summit is no longer going to take place each year, future generations of youth will miss out in learning how to use their disabilities to be productive and active members of society. By keeping the Summit going with new leadership, past participants can share their experiences with the future leaders of tomorrow.
Thank you for signing our petion.
