Tim Novicky | I am currently a Chiropractic student in Kansas City with a little over a year remaining in my education. I grew up in Vienna, Ohio and attended Matthews local. I never played disc golf until I moved to KC even though there was a disc golf course ten miles from where I grew up. The reason for this is because I never knew a course existed at Kent State. Where is the sign off route 82 that says Young Runs Disc Golf Course.....!!!!!! Every course in KC has signs off the highways, all of which are used year round rain, shine, or snow. There is a park in KC that has a disc golf course and a dog park... If people saw the difference in usage of the two areas this would be a simple decision. The disc course is packed and the dog park is not....! Someone could just as easily walk there dog on a leash to get them exercise, the need for a fenced in area is ridiculous... i own 2 dogs...! I look forward to finishing my education and returning to the Valley to practice not only my new profession but also my throws on the disc course... I hope when i return there will be 18 holes instead of 12... all that needs to be done is a little advertising of the park and where to purchase discs...I would bet that 90% of the Kent State students don't even know the course exists. I played Young Runs for the first time this past December, in the snow, and introduced my younger brother and some of his friends to the sport; all of whom now attend regularly...! It is that simple.....!!!
Nick Biggerstaff | Disc Golf encourages healthy behavior in all ages and a useful hobby for keeping youths out of trouble. I am sure dogs are welcome on parts of the course, removing the disc golf course would be a mistake.

pat burke | save the course and install 3 more holes
Jeff Hagerty | There aren't enough courses as it is. Removing one for a dog park seems a bit absurd.
Chet Cullen | SAVE THE COURSE
kim stonestreet | I'm sure there are other areas that they can put in a dog park. But you can't put a disc golf just anywhere!!!!!!
Tom DeFilippo |
Alex Kara |
Camden Knox | Disc Golf is up and coming and great for the community!
Brad Hartoin | Disc golf has a huge following. Removing the course, or parts of it is not the same as taking out a rusty old jungle gym that nobody uses any more. Hundreds of people play disc golf at their home course every day. Disc golf is a fun, competitive, and social game that's free and is good exercise.
Bob Ake | I have been playing this course for about 5 years now and it is a great course and it would be a shame to loose any holes on it. I even bring business to that area when i drive there from stark county not only buying gas but also food and drinks at restaurants. So if its gone so is my business that would just SUCK.
Jennifer Ake | It is unfair to take away something that is already established as a disc golf park and make it a dog park when there is plenty of other land available for the dog park.
Betty Henson |
mike heppner | NO
Brandon Stimmel | This is a nice course and as stated THE ONLY 15 HOLE course around. I would like to see this course stay AS IS. Thanks.
joni ake |
Tasha Newman | leave things as they are. Find somewhere else for your dog park. Isn't there enough land elsewhere?
Jason Risher | youngs run disc golf course is a great course for disc golfers of all ages and skill levels. I love making the trip from stark county to play in tournaments and just to play a relaxing round in the woods. The Trumbull County Disc Golf Association has worked very hard over the years to make a truly unique and challenging disc golf course. Please keep the course the same considering all the hard work and dedication put into what it has become today.
Peter Williamson | Disc Golf is a newer sport gaining popularity across the country. I think it is within Warren and Trumbull County's best interests to keep at least one course (which is not even a complete 18 holes) in the area for the recreational user.
Ken White |

tye schloer | dont touch it. dg is one of the fastest growing sports out there. let the dogs have the sidewalks
Andy |
justin clark | frisbee golf is for evryone and a dog park is only for people with dogs. frisbee golf lets us meet new people and see new places keep this course
Smyth Ransom | Why not just add around the holes to accomodate a dog park
Lawrence Oyler | I have been to many dog parks and one thing is common at them all. No matter how hard the parks people try the (dog parks) end up being one big dog rest room with money being spent to pay employees to clean up the mess on a regular basis. So the choice is to have a park that will offer a disc golf course ( disc golf is the fastest growing sport in America) or a place where dog owners can bring there pets to do their business and leave there mess for others to clean up at the tax payers expense. I think if you stop to consider that the disc golf course was for the most part installed and mantained by disc golfers with little money comming from the tax payers as opposed to a dog park. Completly built, maintained and patrolled by paid employees with tax payers money. I would have to say the choice is clear unless of course you have a surplus of tax money you need to unload.
Ken Hall | Please do not alter Young's Run Disc Golf Course.
kevin m. brady | let the dogs &%#! in their own yard... i want to golf. a lot of time and effort have been put into making youngs run a stellar course.
Christopher R. Lytle | Disc golfers are wonderful park visitors and courses bring in lots of visitors. They care for the park emotionally and physically. Keep the disc golf course, please!

Anonymous | Please save the disc golf course for the people who have worked so hard to have this course installed and maintened though out the years.

John Chereson | To whom it may concern, Disc Golf as a sport is growing very rapidly. When looking at the statistical growth over the last ten years, it is easy to see where the sport is heading. To remove part of the Young's Run course to place a dog park would create a multitude of problems. First and formost would be the high liability involved with many dogs untrained in one area. Secondly whose going to clean up after the dogs? and how much is it going to cost to do such? not to mention any health issues regarding such. What will happen and who will be responsible when a dog gets loose and seriously hurts someone? This happens quite frequently. As the Commissioner you might find this decision to be unwise, unsanitary and unsafe. Look to the future of disc golf and with some research you will find that keeping the disc golf course fully intact would be the wisest decision.
tom epperly | there is a course in az.--shelly sharpe-where they hold the memorial every year--really nice course--they have a dog park towards the back --cant they both live in harmony? lol
Todd Steuart | yes save the course disc golf is growing every day
Joseph Bielecki | Much sweat, hard work and hard worked for monies have gone into making this park the attraction it is today. The course provides free fun for all ages and abilities to residents and non-residents alike. I have a dog and do think that dog owners should find another location to develop into a dog park., If they do, perhaps I will utilize it for that purpose. The land in question has been tirelessly developed into a wonderful facility and it should either stay as it is or be expanded upon to make the course even better!

Brian Parsons | why don't they fence in an area across the street for dogs to run around.
CHAD W TYREE |
Steven Heckathorne | This is a great park and course! The removal of the course for a dog park is a mistake. The course preserves nature. Compared to dogs running rampid throughout the area and the removal of dog waste. Along with the various structures that will be built over time.
Anonymous | That disc golf course is prolly the best thing in your darn city so don't any1 dare take it out!!!!!!
Daniel Whitehill | There are enough places to walk your dog already
