Eric OlsonPlease don't take a step backwards for Trumbull County by removing any part of Young's Run Disc Golf Course. Disc golf is a great family activity and good for the development of parks.
AnonymousSave the course! Dogs can poop elsewhere!
Benjamin Blechman
Dan OlsonPlease keep the course, It is well used and maintained by the disc golf community.
Joshua ByersThanks Trumbull County for providing a great course for all the local people in your area. Every time I am in the area I stop by and play there. Disc golf is great for the community and Trumbull County Parks has help with this push in a growing sport that is helping class up our parks in America. Good Job Trumbull County Josh Byers Fayetteville,AR

Evan KelleyI was going to come from Ohio to play on this course with some players from your area. Dog people know where to go with them for recreation. There are not enough courses for this wonderful sport for us. Thats why I'm willing to come from Ohio to play on Young's Run!
Ed Thomaswe are battling against the city and county here to keep a course in the ground in roswell ga. the city did not realize the importance in having the activity made available to it's citizens, since nothing like it had ever been suggested. rather than take a gamble on someone's vision, especially one who knows about the positive ramifications a disc golf course brings to the community, the rulers assigned it temporary land use status. this made the tract of land vulnerable to the county on an as needed basis. we're amassing forces and have organized a club around the cause, to save it. wish us good luck as we wish you luck in you're endeavor to save your park.

AnonymousI'm in support of dog parks, just not the location that has been chosen for this particular park. We have active Eastern Bluebird nest boxes in the area that would be affected as well as the largest Disc Golf Course in Trumbull County. Isn't there another open space to put the Dog Park in the area?
William GriffithAs chairman of the North East Ohio Disc Golf Alliance and one of three members of the Disc Golf Course Designers Association in Ohio, I am very concerned about the potential loss of holes or a reduction in the quality of the only disc golf course in Trumbull County. Youngs Run has always struggled with the ability to fit within the Clarence Parrow Park. The local club has done developed a good layout of 15 quality holes as opposed to forcing in 18 holes that would compromise the quality of the course. They have a done a great job working within their restrictions. To add the dog park, either to the east or west end of the park will certainly reduce the number of holes which is already less than desired or require a redesign which would reduce the quality of the course. There is already a significant 'disconnect' with the flow of the Youngs Run and the KSU course. They currently play as 2 separate courses. During PDGA sanctioned events, they have to use temporary holes to link them into a workable flow. We understand that there are other people that want to use the park. If there are other parks that can accomodate these other functions, it would seem logical to place the new function in those locations rather than disrupt and displace an existing facility. As an architect, I know that there is always more than one solution to any planning program. I am not that familiar with the other land that the parks have to use, but disc golf certainly seems to be very well suited for this park. And the proximtiy to Kent State and their course is an added reason to maintain the disc golf Course here at Young's Run.
Edward SnodyPlease spare the disc gog course, and use other land.
Robert C. PerrewePlease know that using part of this course for a Dog Park will only hurt disc golf in your area.
steve simmons pdga#19234I travel all over the country, specifically to play new courses and tournaments. Please keep disc golf going in your area and tempt me to visit there and spend some money.
John AhartTo the commissioner of Trumbull County, Please reconsider removing any or part of the disc golf course. Players worldwide are waiting for your decision!
Brian MatthewsPlease do not use any part of an already established recreational facility - the Young's Run Disc Golf Course - to cater to the whims of owners of lesser beasts. People can walk their dogs anywhere, but disc golfers cannot pursue their activities just anywhere. All we need is another asinine attempt to usurp the priviledges of a few who can do what they like only in certain places in favor of those who can do what they like anywhere. If I ever visit southern Ohio, I will be sore tempted to use the Young's Run DGC, if only because I heard about it here - which is a pretty poor fanfare. Consider mine and any other disc golfers' tourism money as being on the line here. Thank you.

Nick ChmielMy home course, Riverbands, in Detroit Michigan was modified by a jogging path a few years ago. Many of the holes lost their challenge and artistic aesthetic, having been redesigned around a 10' wide asphalt path. The artists designing these courses put a lot of time, energy & creativity into course design and deserve to see their efforts respected by county officials and planning managers. As this sport grows exponentially I think we'll all soon realize that the need to modify new ideas around existing courses is greater to obtain positive public response over any need to have them destroyed for "walking space".
elrod monkeyshinesi am a dog owner/lover and a disc golfer and i encourage you to build the dog park elsewhere. i understand that there is ample land and taking away a portion of the disc golf course is not a viable solution. thank you.
Richard Van ManenANOTHER dog park? Please dont destroy our golf course for something that can be put anywhere.

Tod AbrahamsonPlease consider putting in a dog park elsewhere. Since this is the only disc golf course in the area, it would really be a shame to cut it back.
matt jacksonYou're willing to make room for dogs to get some exercise. Why not the people? Disc golf is a great community building way for people to meet and enjoy the outdoors without taxing the land anywhere remotely near as much as traditional golf courses and is a much less expensive way for people to enjoy the great game of golf. Nothing against doggies, i have one, but give the game a chance. You'll find that plenty of the dog owners will love disc golf. It's all good.
Clare WertzRumor has it 3 holes??? I find it hard to believe that these comissioners can't find a small area that can be fenced in and NOT jepordize the course. And the commisioners are volunteering to clean this area too? Trade you our courthouse, you can use that for your dog park.

Johnny SiasIf all possible it would be great to find another place for the dog walk and keep the great course in play.
James GillWe need to keep our courses that are in the ground.

Scott KirbyI have played this beautiful Disc Golf Course many times. It would be a shame to see it be altered in any way ! The Commissioner may want to take a closer look at the number of out of state visitors the course gets annualy for both casual and tournament play. Thanks to Bill Flynn and all the other people involved in the design and installation of this Old School style disc golf course. It is truley a part of Disc Golf History !!
Garrett GrahamAre people seriously to lazy to walk there dogs in the woods that they have to take away someoneelses fun?

AnonymousThe park will be a safer place with the disc golf course, and a much cleaner and sanitary place. Do the community a favor and allow the disc golf community to continue to grow and provide the areas young people a place to learn and grow as individuals. Please visit PDGA.com to learn how disc golf will help your park system bring in more people and revenue for the community. Sincerely, Dan Busick 25 year Professional Disc Golfer Association Member. 190 joshua arnetteI have played this course countless times, with a number of different people, people I would have never met. I for one bring my companion her name is Blue, my black lab retriever along with me to every course I can, she has made countless friends at these courses as well. I know this course is home to an NEO tourney, I could only guess what the economic impact would be if the course is altered and tourney is no longer held. This course is a home course for many different players, closing part of the course would most likely mean abandoning disc golf altogether for these people, and letting it goes to the dogs.
AnonymousIt would be a total shame to remove any of the holes from this course. I would think there is plenty of land, close by that could be used for the pups. Please don't take our exercise away from us.....
mike ahope this helps.
AnonymousSince when are dogs and frisbee golf courses exclusive of each other?
Ryan ShirleyI can't believe that anyone would even consider taking out a fun recreational activity for men women and children alike just to put in an area to let dogs run around. Don't get me wrong, I have 2 dogs and I love them both but there's no need to take out a perfectly good course to give them a dog park. Dogs will be happy with or without that park.
AnonymousStop ruining our sport. What did we ever do to you?
Ben CalhounThis is one of the first courses I ever played, way back when it was new. It is also near family I visit every year. It would be a shame to lose a course so that people can walk their dogs, when there is so much other space for walking dogs! Please don't do this.

Rich GivensIsn't there a way to accommodate the dog owners without butchering this popular disc golf park?
Jerry GotcherPlease leave the disc golf course as presently designed. Thank you, Jerry (Pittsburgh, PA)
Dave VincentPlease keep the disc golf course intact!
