| 52 | Dave Michaels | I can understand if a choice like this is made prior to the development of a course; however, surely an established course is of more benefit than a dog park.
Is this what we as humans have come to already? We need to destroy part of a community disc golf course in order to provide a place for dogs to crap?
Let's try and keep the parks for people until the dogs are paying the taxes. |

| 54 | Kim Sturdavant | Disc golf is a great asset to any community. It gives people of all ages from any walk of life a wonderful opportunity to get out in nature and enjoy themselves. It is a fantastic thing for a park to have! It is especially a great thing for youth to get involved with, as it will get them out into the fresh air and active in a natural and athletic setting. Please keep this course alive.

| 55 | William Flynn | I designed the course and am very disappointed with the actions being taken to displace the course. |
| 56 | Anonymous | Please allow the disc golf course to remain intact. Thank you. |
| 57 | Anonymous | This is terrible. The warren disc golf group has put alot of time into that course to make it what it is today. I played this course alot over that past few years, and have seen the changes put in by the people there. IT WOULD BE A DISGRACE TO THROW IT TO THE DOGS |
| 58 | Pad Tmmons | I have a dog and take it with me to play disc golf all the time. This course is really needed. |
| 59 | Kris Sorrow | Please look at the good that this sport offers. Disc golf provides a low cost activity that encourages kids to do something productive and positive with their time. |
| 60 | Larry Jennings | Young's Run Disc Golf Course should remain intact as it is. Please do not change this course, as I travel from Ashtabula to play this course on a regular basis. |
| 61 | Gina Mote | Why tear apart a great disc golf course that has been installed and used frequently by many disc golfers including all the surrounding counties for many years? Annual disc golf tournaments have taken place there and disc golfers plan on being there every year. I am sure a place for the dogs can be found without having to remove a well used park area by people all around this area and more! |
| 62 | Mark Kane | Dear Sir,
As a dog owner, disc golfer and as a personal friend and supporter of William Flynn, I understand the need to insure activities to the public. The area of Youngs Run has been home to disc golf for a long period of time, I have seen a swampy, messy wasteland turned into a fabulous and challenging disc golf course. Williams' efforts include corroborations with Trumbull County, The Professional Disc Golf Association, and The Shoot the Breeze Disc Golf Club to develop a core group of volunteers to maintain this course. This course is an essential cog to the Can-Am Series Disc Golf Championship which pits the best players in the Untied States and Canada to compete for the intercontinental crown.
I’ve been informed that you have the influence to impact this competitive series and the course by removing part of the course for a dog park. I ask you to explore other options and consider the expenses required to make this move. The dog park, would certainly be a positive addition to this park, and it should be able to be developed somewhere within the Youngs Run area. Removing areas of the course, however, would prove counterproductive and unfair to the Disc Golfers responsible for the current status and development of the park. In addition, the cost of removal of the equipment and tee pads and then the influx of funds to create a dog park will certainly double your costs at minimum, and create a difficult situation with the already stressed tax structure in your region. I have seen the great work that the Trumbull County is capable of, and the available land in this area would certainly provide a better solution than proposing a reduction in recreation space versus further expansion of recreational space in this area.
In closing, please consider that prior to the disc golf course installation, the park was certainly not useable for a dog or dog owner who now seek it use. It is also important to reflect which kind of message it would send to the people and organizations who have volunteered hours of work to make Youngs’ Run the location it is now. In addition, consider the impact it will have on established competitive events scheduled. You have plenty of land and resources, and I have plenty of confidence that you the elected official will make the right decision to meet the publics overall goal to create a win – win situation.
Yours Truly,
Mark Kane

| 63 | Dave Martin | We come from Erie, Pa. to play the course. We ALSO spend money in the area eating lunch and buying gas for the return trip to Erie.
DO NOT DESTROY THE COURSE! |
| 64 | J. Gary Dropcho | Why take an existing recreational facility for the dog park. I'd suggest looking for some unused area instead. The disc golf course can be used by 72 humans at a time. |
| 65 | Patricia jarvis | This would be very unfair due to the fact that the disc golf course was there first and they maintain the course themselves.....I'm sure there are many other places for the dogs!! |
| 66 | Paul Groszkiewicz | I have been playing disc golf for over 30 years & I can honestly say the sport is growing by leaps & bounds. It would be a dis-service to Trumbull County to alter this course. The best thing you could do is increase it to 18 holes. |
| 67 | Anonymous | I understand the desire to expand a parks available activities, and I am sure that this is how the disc golf course got there in the first place. However removing part of a course can hurt the disc golf community that uses this recreational space. Having a disc golf community in the parks has helped many of our parks stay cleaner of crimes and unwanted activities, not to mention help litter control. Thanks for considering keeping our course here. |
| 68 | Bradley Walker | I love dogs. I take my Bullmastiff with me to play all the time, he is my constant companion.
That being said, dog parks stink like dog poop. Real bad. Even the nice ones. We have several in the area in very nice neighborhoods, they all stink. Especially in the summer
DG courses do not stink like poop, and are dog friendly. The locals may not realize that until it is too late. If I lived next to dog park I would not be happy!! |
| 69 | Mike Woodworth | This is a wonderfull disc golf course that I personaly love to play. I'm sure there is room for a dog park some where else in trumble county |
| 70 | Jeff Stanek | Mr. Commissioners- Countless municipalities throughout the world, in conjunction with the local disc golf club, are currently installing new disc golf courses. Everyone of them would be envious of the course that you already have at Clarence Darrow Park. Please don't destroy it, but support it. Appreciate this great asset that is enjoyed by so many in your community. |

| 72 | Anonymous | This disc golf course is very important to me and my family. We have been playing the course for years and love it. We drive over a half an hour frequently, just to play the course. Please reconsider placing the dog park on this land that is alreeady being used frequently for another purpose. Changing the course would definitely be a negative aspect. The land has already been cleared and maintained for disc golf. Please find another place for the dog park. Keep in mind a dog can be walked on a leash on any path or sidewalk in the area but there are very few disc golf courses in a fifty mile radius. Champion should be very proud to have such a fine course. Disc golf is becoming very popular sport world wide. It would be a shame to see the park take such a huge step backwards. Sincerely, Nora Jamison Berlin Center, Ohio |
| 73 | Mark Croushorn | Please rescind the decision to remove part of the Young's Run Disc Golf Course. |
| 74 | Leon M. Fountain | Keep the DG course alive. PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!! |
| 75 | Larry Rizzo | This is one of the best technical disc golf courses in the area. I drive 45 minutes every chance I get to play there. Disc Golf is one of the best upcoming sports around. It's great for the young kids to have this place available to play. |
| 76 | Alex Rosendin | |
| 77 | Billy Joe Ondo Jr | Taking away an asset to the community, such as a disc golf course is a shame. This is used by "all age groups" in your community, as a new player at the ripe old age of 52, I find disc golf very useful in getting myself, outdoors away from the computer, a exersize progam a older person, even riddled with arthritis (Chronic Reiter's Syndrome), can do to stay healthy.
I just got my Grandaughter in PA. playing Disc golf, it's something a whole multi-generation of family can enjoy. I'm sure if you must have a "dog walk", it could be set up in a different park, not being used for Disc Golf.
If not, then pls. look into ways to keep the DG course but "blend" in the dog walk around it so it stays, truely "multi-user". Again pls. think of all the folks, young and old you'll be leaving without a recreational activity/sport with your planned actions.
Sincerely
Billy Joe Ondo Jr.

| 79 | Anonymous | Very nice course. Friends and I come into town at least 3 times a year to play. The sport is growing and that means alot more players coming to the area to enjoy the course. |
| 80 | Anonymous | Disc golfers and dog walkers can all get along. |
| 81 | Mark Davis | |
| 82 | Steven Keller | |
| 83 | D. Bevan | I am a Lake County resident and enjoy playing Disc Golf. There are no pubilic courses in Lake County county. I often travel to Yong's Run to play on this permanent course. It would be a shame to alter this existing, beautiful and challenging golf course. Hopefully there is another piece of county land for the proposed dog park. |
| 84 | Martin Niemi | |
| 85 | Ryan Carman | Disc Golf has become one of my fovorite hobbies and helped me lose 75 pounds just from staying active. It would be a great shame to have part of the course removed. |
| 86 | Anonymous | Please keep all of this course , we love it, and would hate to see it go. |
| 87 | Ben Wolf | The course provided me with a great experience. The community that has been generated by the course is phenomenal. In tournaments and recreational play, the course has satisfied my every need. Taking it out would be a shame. It would not only hurt the community, but the game of disc golf in general. Please spare the course! |
| 88 | maTT HECKER | |
| 89 | Kevin Bresnahan | The DGC is used much more than a dog park would be. Disc golfers take care of it themselves. You can bet that some pet owners will need others to clean up after their "messes." |
| 90 | Stephen Foster | I am all for places to play with you dog but that is why me have parks like the Howland park. Disc Golfers do not bother anyone and shouldn't loose part of their course. |
| 91 | Amy Parker | |
| 92 | Chris Barbo | Please consider another site for the dog park. |
| 93 | Jason Puffenbarger | The idea of ruining a fine and well used disc golf course for a dog park is an insult to the disc golfers who use it. People can play with their dogs at any park or in their own yards, while discing can only be done at a course. Please reconsider this proposal and leave the only disc golf course in Trumbull County alone. |
| 94 | Mark Verzella | Save Young's Run. Keep the course. |
| 95 | Chris Anderson | |
| 96 | CourTney Collins | What would these people do with themselves if they didn't have disc golf? |
| 97 | Meghan Benedict | |
| 98 | eric centanni | i love this place as is... i know several people who are dog lovers as well as disc golf enthusiasts. they take thier dogs along during rounds, but they are well behaved, trained, and the owners pick up the waste. with disc golf you attract people from all over the country, there is plenty of space to be wasted for a dog park in trumbul county. come on!! it is a rural area. we are not new york. |
| 99 | John Davis | |
| 100 | Richard Kinzer | Dear Commissioner,
As an avid 47 year old disc golfer from Western Tennessee, I would like to appeal to you to reconsider the action of modifying the existing disc golf course called Young's Run. While dog parks are worthy and needed facilities that contribute to the quality of life in a community, please don't discount the value of this disc golf course. |
