Name: Gilly Workman on Oct 25, 2011Comments: Improving young people's mental health provision would save much expenditure, suffering and anguish later in life. It would also I am sure, be a cheaper option for the country. Thanks to insufficient attention being paid to my daughters mental health problems when she was a teenager, she suffered enormously (as did the rest of the family). She made 5 suicide attempts and drove me to a break down. She also was barred from attending school at the age of 15, consequently has no qualifications. Better provision when she was younger (she is now 25 yrs) could have made such a difference.Flag

I want mental health amongst young people to be recognised as much as physical health is. I believe that it is so common that awareness has to be raised and young people need to know that they are not on there own.Flag

Name: Alexandra Brett on Nov 26, 2011Comments: I've suffered from depression since I was 11 years old. Thats 7 years of feeling sad and worthless in this world and if a petition like this, where people can actually change the way young people cope and deal with mental health problems, that 10% could be reduced to 0%. Please, just help us. We don't want to be alone anymore.Flag

Name: Francine Haslam on Dec 6, 2011Comments: I'm 19 years old and I wish my depression had been spotted earlier. If untreated, it only gets worse with time. Young people need help and information on mental health, otherwise it becomes an unmentionable subject and people feel too embarassed to ask for help. We do need help, otherwise people make stupid and irreversable mistakes.Flag

Name: Emma Clulow on Dec 12, 2011Comments: Please make more help available to young people with mental health issues. My son has ADHD and Co-Morbid autism and will soon be 16. We have struggled to get any support and I am concerned for his future and that of others like him.Flag
