Look further than the paramedic incident Mar 31. 2010 | Comments (0)
Hello all, Everyone has the paramedic incident in mind when they think about the snowstorm but I urge you to look further for answers. Had a state of emergency been declared sooner EMS workers would have had clear roads to travel on to answer calls. Yes, paramedics could have walked but think of it this way; what could they have done once they got there? A stretcher can not be pushed through two feet of snow. Would you feel the same if they made it to the house, put a patient in the back and were transporting them to the hospital and the ambulance got stuck or wrecked? This should have never been an issue. The streets should have been clear so every and any call could be answered!!! If Ravenstahl/Huss had been doing their job the Paramedics, Police and Fire Department could have done theirs. When the national guard got here no problems were reported. So again I ask why was a State of Emergency not declared sooner?
