As early as April 12th, 2012, CUPE 3903, the union for teaching assistants and contract faculty at York University in Toronto, ON, could go on strike. This will be the second strike at York U in under 4 years. York University has a rich history of labour disputes, and the students have no formal mechanisms to express their concerns, even though they suffer the most. This petition is designed to urge both CUPE 3903 & the administration of York University to come to a settlement in a way that will avoid a strike. Signing this petition does not make you anti-CUPE or anti-admin; it doesn't even make you pro-CUPE or pro-admin. It makes you pro-student by being anti-strike. As students, let us stand together and make our voices heard!
