In the past ten years the countries of the UK have seen crises after crises. From the mystery weapons of mass destruction and the war in Iraq, to the irresponsibility of a greed-driven financial sector and the worldwide recession we are now experiencing as a result of their actions. As if this is not enough, our "democratic" MPs have been cheating the system out of hundreds of thousands of taxpayers pounds and the cost of living, more specifically petrol and energy prices, has exploded in a trend which has no precedent in British history. In the past we feared communism. The average citizen was terrified of the injustices and elitism which had emerged from what seemed like the most equal societal model ever devised. The wealthy and powerful were terrified by the equality and tolerance which the system preached. In the years since the rise of communism, it is surprising to note how we have slowly adopted many of the ideals that were once only communist as our own: Women should have equal rights, we should tolerate and work with those from other parts of the world and the nationalisation of our healthcare system and various public services. These are all undoubtedly good things and we have learned from communism that working together for the good of society has real benefits for everyone who participates. However, the other lesson that should have been learned, but wasn't, was that no matter how fair we think a system to be, letting power accumulate anywhere will always result in the abuse of said power. We have seen this in MPs expenses and in the recession. Politicians and wealthy banks had lost all sense of responsibility which came with the power which the had accumulated. I want to argue that no one should have this level of power ever again. No one should ever again hold the control over our resources, our quality of living, as the banks do. No one should ever again have the power over our legal, defence and in our case most other services in the country as our MPs do. I know you may be thinking, "this is all fair and well, but you cannot just make these institutions disappear". This is entirely true. In a capitalist democracy we need banks, a centre for economic power and a centralised government, a centre for political power. As we have discussed, where power collects, corruption and elitism follow. I'm sure you'll agree, this is not good. So, my solution is this. We move away from capitalism. We let the money, the politicians and the centres of power go. This is not communist propaganda, I assure you that we do not need any of these. Money is just a middle man. Why shouldn't we build products and give them to people who are working within the economy such as teachers, tradesmen and police? Are these people not also contributing to society? Of course they are, and a comfortable life in our country should be their payment. Money need never change hands. Without money, "rich" and "poor" will be words of the past as all those contributing to the economy will be provided for. Without money we would no longer need people to carry out the task of organising finances, monitoring the markets or re-possessing possessions. These people can now escape the drudgery which they were forced into in order to pay for their life and start anew, in the profession which they love doing.

This is but one of the changes I feel we must make as a nation to progress. We know we are not perfect, we know we can be better, we can improve. If you feel we can make a step towards a vibrant, fair and sensible Britain, far from the unequal disaster which our society has become, please support this petition. I hope it will come to stand for a desire for true democracy in the UK.  Say no to Communism, Say no to Capitalism, Say yes to democracy. For a summary of my ideas, detail on those I have not mentioned here and how we can implement them please visit the website which I will post here soon. All questions, criticisms and suggestions are more than welcome.
