Name: Edoardo Percudani on Apr 26, 2010Comments: I am in favor of the Lighthouse Project. I have a 6 year old son and a 8month old daughter and I would like them to experience New York Islander hockey in the future,ON LONG ISLAND. Something needs to be done,We have a good young core of players and if somthing could be worked out before this years free agent market opens we can attract some top end FA's. And be a playoff hockey team for years to come. Mr, Wang is an honest and caring man who has already proven how loyal he is to Long Island.Flag

Name: Oren on May 11, 2010Comments: Yes! Yes! Yes! to the Lighthouse. Develop that blighted area and give Long Island what it deserves. I grew up in Long Island but sadly cannot work or live there because of a lack of housing (which the lighthouse will develop) and a lack of jobs (due to zoning boards like TOH that block any prospective positive developments). Its sad that the only construction on Long Island these days are condo developments or retail developments. Lets get a centralized business district that will attract and maintain young professionals on Long Island. Also lost in the discussion is the benefits to Hofstra and its student base. Maybe they will have a place to live not located in the slums of hempstead.Flag

Name: Anonymous on May 20, 2010Comments: The Lighthouse Project needs to get done - and the fact that local government is preventing this from happening is an absolute joke. What does Hempstead and the surrounding areas have to offer without the Islanders - can someone answer that question. The Lighthouse project would provide greater interest to consumers and business owners to the Hempstead area which the town could never muster on it's own - that's a fact. Not to mention the boost to the local economy and job market it would provide. Keep it up Charles Wang because in the end Hempstaed needs the Islanders a lot more than the Islanders need Hempstead - that's for sure.Flag

Name: Lukasz Stanczyk on Jul 30, 2010Comments: I've been an Islanders fan all my life, through the good times and the bad. Recently, however, more rumors are flying around that the Isles future on the island may be very short-lived. As a life-long fan, I beg the administration to PLEASE reconsider the Lighthouse Project. It may very well be the final hope for this great franchise, the very lifeblood of Long Island. Without the Islanders, there will be a gaping hole in the very fabric of not only Long Island, but in the entire NHL. This storied and historical franchise needs to stay in Long Island. In addition, the Lighthouse would encourage more top-caliber players to play on the Islanders. The construction of this project would also be an economically and culturally sound decision for Long Island as a whole. Please, keep the Isles in LI, keep the tradition and the passion alive. Please build the Lighthouse!Flag
