| 303 | Barbara Anderson | I support the inclusion of Arabic language instruction in North Carolina schools. As a parent, I witnessed the educational benefits to two of my children who learned Japanese at Chapel Hill High School, where the language, writing system, and cultural context differed so greatly from English and the other languages offered. Although neither of my children chose to pursue Japanese beyond high school, the intellectual rewards were enormous, making their minds more flexible and making them much more educated world citizens. The same benefits would come from Arabic instruction.
Furthermore, as someone who is professionally involved with international studies in higher education, I am constantly reminded by the US Department of Education of the extreme importance of educating US citizens to become truly proficient in our "less-commonly-taught" languages. Arabic language instruction is viewed by the US government as one of the highest language priorities, and there are federal funds available to support and promote the inclusion of Arabic in American public high schools. Although the mechanics of inclusion may initially prove difficult, the stakes for American peace and prosperity are simply too compelling for legislators to refrain from supporting this initiative. |

| 328 | Anonymous | Arabic is the language of the Qur'an, the last Book revealed by Allah (God) to His Messenger the Prophet Muhammad (may the blessings and peace of God be upon him) this contributes to the ever growing learning process of human beings and the call to eternal salvation ; devoid of the ephemeral attraction of wordly affairs. |

| 330 | Roberta Ann Dunbar | The study of Arabic is of great interest to us as Americans--both because of the numbers of Arabic-speaking and Arabic-using citizens, but also because of the significance of Arabic in Africa, Asia, and across the world. It is deserving of attention and appreciation for its literature and thought since it represents such a significant population of the world's peoples. |

| 333 | Shadi Sadi | I support the inclusion of Arabic language instruction in North Carolina schools. Like it has already been said, this provides an oppotunity for children of Arab descent to learn the language of their family, as well as for children interested in learing about the language and culture of the Arab world, thus promoting mutual respect and understanding |
| 334 | Mohamed Nourhussein | It is clear that America stands freedom & equal opertunity for all. Therefore, I support that Middle/high Schools need to include Arabic language as part of their foriegn language program |

| 338 | Yousif Alkadhi | I graduated from Enloe High School in Raleigh, NC, part of the Wake County Public School System. I feel taking 1 year of Arabic in high school would have been more beneficial to me than the 3 years of Latin I took. I think it's a great tool, and that our country needs more Arabic linguists now more than ever. Thank you for considering it. |

| 340 | raaid abdel-ghani | Arabic is more widely spoken in the us than french and german. It's not fair that its not offered as an option for foreign language. |
