Norma TaraziIt is one of the world's great languages and our ignorance of it in this country is an impediment to our understanding of the Middle East and foreign affairs.
Liza SafdariIntroduction of Arabic language in high schools will help bridge gaps between students from different cultures. It can increase logical communication and a understanding of each other. So, Iam all for it !

NainaLearning more about other cultures and languages does not decrease our knowledge but it only increases which leads to better understanding and a better dialogue. We should encourage learning of languages for our pupils and in particular Arabic because of it's historic past and richness.

Carolyn BirkmanThis is a lovely idea in that students should be able to learn about more than just a different language. It is opening their eyes to a culture that goes beyond the food the Middle Easterners prepare. Its simply wonderful!
Mohamed S. AliArabic language is extremely rich in far and recent history of the world, art, and culture. It is a language that will benefit every student all over the world. It is about time to make it one of the choices for students in the American school system. I strongly demand that the Arabic language be one of the Electives in NC High Schools and Middle Schools!!! 249 Margaret SchuckerIt is vital that the United States have a diplomatic corps and tranlslators that are able to communicate with their counterparts in the Middle Eastern countries, most of whom speak Arabic. A knowledge of the language also helps the speaker to begin to understand the culture. Finally, to make the effort to learn a foreign, shows that we have tolerance and the desire to expand our world view.
