| 249 | Margaret Schucker | It is vital that the United States have a diplomatic corps and tranlslators that are able to communicate with their counterparts in the Middle Eastern countries, most of whom speak Arabic. A knowledge of the language also helps the speaker to begin to understand the culture. Finally, to make the effort to learn a foreign, shows that we have tolerance and the desire to expand our world view. |
