Hi, we are a multi-faith group of Year 7 students at a school in London. We feel very passionately against islamophobia. As well as having family members who are VERY committed to Islam, people in our community are also VERY loving, caring Muslims.

So it upsets us (and many others) that people are calling themselves 'Muslims' when they are not following the religion at all. For example the holy book (Qur'an) says to love one another like brothers and sisters and not to murder anyone but people such as ISIS are constantly doing this and it is hugely impacting Muslims who do follow the religion on a daily basis.

We believe that too many negative stories on Islam are shown in the media which reflect badly on all Muslims around the world who are peaceful, loving ordinary people like you and me.

We want to have an equal balance in the news media between positive reporting on Islam and negative. We propose that for every negative story, at least one positive story is shown also.

We believe this would help promote understanding, empathy and tolerance between Muslims and non-Muslims and ultimately make the world a better place!
