I am a young carer aged 18, which means that I am too old to go to my local young carers (which is still 12 miles away from where I live) but too young to go to the Adult Carers group. Carers under the age of 18 are given support with school work and exams, however once you hit 18 that all disappears. However your home situation doesn't change and neither does your maturiaty nor your ability to cope with the strain.
This is so unfair. Just because you turn 18 doesnt mean you stop needing help at home. Uni is hard enough without having to look after someone full time with zero back up from the school.
