we urge Sudan's government to intervene on behalf of our colleague Abdulssalam by asking the State goverment represented in the Governor,Al-dow Mohammad Mahi, the chairman of security commission to uphold speech freedom and refrain from the on-going torture and detention of Abdulsalam Ismael .Abdulsalam was under custody from the beginning of March until this moment. He was arrested during apeaceful demonstration in Gedaref Market that protested against sabotaging the elections. He is one of the members of Gedaref Salvation Initiative that appealed to the High Court in Khartoum asking him to revoke the gubernatorial elections results in Gedaref State in Eastern Sudan and formation of new commission to carry out new fair elections. His detention is with out an arraignment and a violation of his human rights.
