Comments: There are so many forms of art that digital just wouldn't do justice.

Comments: It will be a positive learning experience for those who submit and know how to submit, but I agree we all we blindsided by this new procedure. March 8th is fast approaching and novices have had absolutely no class instruction on how to comply.

Comments: I agree that many students would not be able to make digital images of their work without more intensive knowledge of digital technologies and therefore many fine works will certainly be underrepresented in the exhibition.

Comments: Blindsided is precisely how I feel about the introduction of the new digital submission process. I've taken several art classes here at Yavapai. Unfortunately, not one has discussed the process of digitally reproducing 2D and 3D artworks. I fully understand the need for art students to be able to submit their works digitally, but we are going straight from physical submissions to digital with no transitional period whatsoever. Many of us who have never needed to reproduce our works digitally are completely lost with this process. It would be extremely beneficial for Yavapai College to provide instruction to teach students how to best present physical media in digital submissions, and to provide resources such as equipment and assistance to allow students with no prior experience with digital submissions to present their work in the spring '13 show.

Comments: Camera lighting and appropriate set up equipment is necessary to get a quality image of shiny metal such as silver jewelry. It is like phographing a 3-D mirror.

Comments: After all, the student body the prime component of the college campus. Without it, the college has no purpose. Let's not discourage competetion and thereby discourage participation.
